Native American Indians believed that dreams have magical qualities.
That is, the ability to change or direct one’s path in life.
 |
The project
is involved with individuals (focus people), supporting them to
share their dreams and plan for their futures.
The benefits of dreaming are already being turned into reality including
jobs, holidays, housing, advocacy, building inclusive communities, and new friendships.
|
In Dundee alone, there are over 1,000 adults with learning disabilities
and/or autism, and until
no adult service devoted it’s effort to fostering connections in
the community or building friendships.
The
Project offers:
- Trained staff to help plan in a Person Centred way.
- Help to work out what people want to achieve in their lives.
- People called ‘Circle Facilitators’ to help set up circles
of support for individuals.
- People called ‘Outreach Workers’ who assist people to
become an active part of their community.
is no ordinary service!
If you or someone you know maybe interested in having a Circle of support
can help:
- It needs to be a place that you are happy with.
- You need to make it welcoming and friendly. (We will help)
- Think about what you might say to people and why you are asking for their
support.
An Evaluation Report was completed on the
Project in May 2004. Please click here to read it.
