What is a Gathering?

Good question! Our Gatherings are a chance for all the people involved in Circles Around Dundee and project to get together and have fun, share their ideas and their concerns. At Gatherings, we make time for people to discuss topics that make a difference to them and/or their loved ones.

Gifts, Contribution and Community Dreamcatchers Annual Gathering 2003

held our second Annual Gathering on Monday 19th May 2003 at Discovery Point Heritage Centre from 2:45 - 9pm.

Our guest speaker Jack Pearpoint, who has been a strong influence in the Circles of Support approach, shared his experiences with us.

The theme of our gathering was gifts, contributions and community. 74 people attended including MSP's, the director of Social Work, various professionals who have supported us over the year, committee members and most importantly focus people and their circle members. The people present made the day, focus people and their circle's all contributed in their own way, including writing, singing a song, drum playing, paintings, role play, stories, bookmarks, recipe booklets and homemade sweets. It was a great event, people had the opportunity to mix and learn from one another.
