Sam's
Story
Sam was referred by Mum Aileen in April, 2007 who had real concerns regarding Sam’s lack of social skills, social isolation and friendships.
Sam has been diagnosed with ASD and attends Harris Academy in the Autistic Unit fulltime, and Sam had very little integration with mainstream
peers and was excluded from mainstream activities. Due to many different obstacles i.e. staffing shortages, Sam moving house, school holidays,
prelim exams etc Sam did not have his first circle meeting until March, 2008. However, as you can see from the photographs and comments Sam
is much more included, his confidence and self-esteem has increased dramatically – happy days!
